| “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
I like to get these emails to you first thing in the morning. I think they hit harder that way. But last night (or should I say this morning), I got in around 3. I wanted to write right then and tell you about my adventures. The moonlit hours I spent on a porch in The Tre (3rd ward) discussing literature and art. I was with the artist again and though I find him to be refreshing (he’s with all of my antics and get straight to the point shit), a romantic connection it is not. I like IT/engineer guys the best and I like non-American Blacks. Kinda late in life to develop a type, but I think I found it.
Anyway, I’m glad I waited to write. God wants me to remind you to go for the impossible.
There’s a woman on this list named Christy. I met her when we were 15. Smart quiet pretty girls in a hood school without cousins or close friends, we found ourselves beefing with and beating up bitches in the same mean girl clique. So we clicked and skipped school and flexed our burgeoning womanhood. When I went away to college and came back our friendship hit a rocky patch. Years later, I was going door to door to barbershops selling my first book. I ran into Christy’s husband, who copped one for her and voila! We reconnected. Now Christy is battling some horrible medical shit. The doctors are little help. With men a cure is impossible. With God it is already done.

P.S. Today’s opening quote comes from my main man, Jesus! Matthew 19:26. Thank y’all for praying for Christy, right now in this very moment.
P.P.S. Okay, time for our daily task! What are the impossible things you’re believing God for? Jot down a quick list. People told me it was impossible to sell a book for $100. Yet, I have already sold dozens and will sell out within a month.
P.P.P.S. I’m telling you New Black is a collectible and an investment. Don’t fuck around and fuck around and miss out. Click here to pre-order yours.
